# Shall I install eSIM before or after landing?

eSIM activation requires an internet connection, so we strongly suggest you to [install eSIM](/en/article/install-esim-on-ios-iphone-1a20mg4/) before arriving at your destination. 

But you could also use local Wi-Fi at the airport to place order and activate eSIM right after landing.
